Sectors
Built around one market:UK healthcare
Most advisers cover healthcare as one sector on a longer list. We built the firm around it. Everything we do runs off our own data on the entire sector, and we are in the market every week: on the phone with owners, across the table from buyers, and in the detail with the people who fund these deals.
Each page below is written for the owner of that kind of business: what the market looks like, what moves your value, what businesses actually sell for, and what happens when you sell. They are the pages we wish every owner had read before their first conversation with anyone.

Care homes
England has 11,655 registered care homes for older people. In the year to June 2026, 379 of them changed owner, and 45.1% of the people who own them are aged 60 or over. Freehold homes sold to a new operator between September 2023 and April 2026 changed hands at a median of about £41,000 per registered bed. The full figures are on our Senior Residential Care Market Index.
Home care
There are 14,278 home care agencies registered with CQC in England, and nearly two in five have never been given a rating. In the year to June 2026, 411 changed owner, and 91% of those were sales of the company, which leave the CQC registration untouched and so never show on the register. The detail is on our Home Care Agency Market Index.
Dental and private clinics
Groups and private buyers have been bringing practices together for years. The price of a practice turns on the mix of NHS and private income, how settled the associates are and the terms of the lease or freehold, and buyers read all three closely.
Aesthetic clinics
A licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures is on its way in England. Clinics with qualified, settled practitioners, clean records and income spread across several people will be the ones buyers compete for once it arrives.
Why we work in one sector
A buyer of a care home reads the inspection report before the accounts. A buyer of a home care agency asks about carer turnover and council contracts before profit. A buyer of an aesthetics clinic wants to know how much of the income depends on one practitioner. Questions like these set the price, they differ from one market to the next, and we deal with them every week.
Our buyer conversations also carry over from one deal to the next. The groups buying care homes, the investors backing home care businesses and the buyers bringing dental and aesthetics clinics together are people we speak to every month, and our data on the whole sector shows who has bought what, and where.
Free figures on your market
We publish what the official registers show on our Market Index, free and with the source against every figure: changes of owner, asking multiples, CQC ratings and owner ages, refreshed as the registers update. See the home care and care home figures, and if a term in any of it is unfamiliar, the glossary explains it in plain English.
